Ciclovia Belfast is delighted that we will be joined along the Ciclovia route by the fantastic Ulster Youth Orchestra.

Whilst you enjoy your Ciclovia Belfast experience and cycle along the Bedford Street section of the route you will be entertained by the wonderful sounds of the Ulster Youth Orchestra brass quintet. They will be located at the front of one of Belfast’s most celebrated buildings, The Ulster Hall.

Now celebrated as one of the leading youth orchestras in the UK, the award winning Ulster Youth Orchestra was initiated by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland in October 1993.  Working in close association with the Education Authority, the organisation brings together the most talented young instrumentalists aged 14-23 from throughout Northern Ireland for residential courses and concerts, CD recordings, special projects, workshops and events.  The Ulster Youth Orchestra provides the highest level of musical training from leading professional musicians and distinguished conductors.

Don’t forget that Ciclovia Belfast will run 0930 – noon.  If you would like to take part in the official start of the event then why not join us at Botanic Gardens for a photo opportunity at 0930. Look out for our media partners Cool FM and Downtown Radio.  Their street team will be walking the Ciclovia Route and taking pictures for a facebook album, which will be available after the event.  Also make sure you join in the conversation on twitter and facebook using #CicloviaBelfast.  We are keen to see all your pictures as well as hear all about your Ciclovia Belfast experience – so keep us posted and let us see you enjoying Ciclovia Belfast and all the fun activities.

Finally, do take time to remind yourself of the road closures and diversions as well as the details of the times the cycle freeway will be reopened to allow traffic to flow.  All details at
